Since 1947, American Legion Post 597, a 501 (c)3 non-profit organization, has been welcoming VETERANS from all branches of our Armed Forces. With a combined membership of over 550, including our affiliated family organizations, we are committed to supporting Veterans, their families, and the community.
Our efforts include advocating for Veterans' rights, helping where needed, and engaging in community outreach to enhance the well-being of those we serve. Through our dedicated members and volunteers, we strive to make a positive impact while upholding the values of service and patriotism.
Joining our Post enables you to continue serving your God, Country, and Community. Our mission is to implement the goals, aspirations, dreams, peace, and blessings for our country, friends, and families embodied in our preamble below.
To the citizens of Carrollton, Texas, and the surrounding area, your patronage helps us to continue sponsoring Scholarships for our children; give aid and assistance to our local veterans, their families, and our community. The mission of the American Legion Carrollton is to honor and support Veterans, their families, and the community. We are dedicated to fostering a sense of camaraderie among our members, advocating for the needs of Veterans, and promoting patriotism and community service.
PREAMBLE TO THE CONSTITUTION
FOR GOD AND COUNTRY WE ASSOCIATE OURSELVES TOGETHER FOR THE FOLLOWING PURPOSES:
To uphold and defend the Constitution of the United States of America;
To maintain law and order;
To foster and perpetuate a one hundred percent Americanism;
To preserve the memories and incidents of our associations in all wars;
To inculcate a sense of individual obligation to the community, state, and nation;
To combat the autocracy of both the classes and the masses;
To make right the master of might;
To promote peace and goodwill on earth;
To safeguard and transmit to posterity the principles of justice, freedom, and democracy;
To consecrate and sanctify our comradeship by our devotion to mutual helpfulness.
